    FULLSCREEN

Situated just a 10 minute drive from Edinburgh City, amongst sweeping country hills and a stunning landscape you will find the gates to Carlowrie Castle.

Built in 1852 and recently renovated by the Marshall Family, the castle is now a top luxury venue on the doorstep of Edinburgh with a glorious charm you have to see to believe. Voted amongst the top 3 residences with less then 100 rooms in Europe, this castle is nothing short of spectacular.

    Plenty Of Room

The castle features 9 charming rooms, each with a unique character and style. The rooms offer deep carpets, spacious bathrooms and are equipped with king beds. They also offer stunning views of the 32 acre surrounding land; You wake up in your own Victorian castle getaway. You will instantly notice the free standing bath-tubs, marble tiles and walk-in showers. The floors are heated, the wifi is fast, the quality is spectacular and the experience is memorable to say the least.

The serenity and isolation of Carlowrie Castle really gives you the feeling you are in a different place all together and this type of escapism is a rare experience for those with a busy lifestyle and schedule. Once those gates closed, you are part of a family. You are taken care of at every moment and the service is second to none. The castle offers a butler to attend to your every need and tailor your stay. You also have a friendly, welcoming team to make your stay comfortable as possible.

Throughout the rooms and interior of the building you will find some amazing pop and urban art, which is all personally selected by Andrew Marshall, CEO and owner of the castle. Tasteful colour and personality help make the castle’s interior more like a home. The pieces are modern, comforting and bold, which add a rich contrast to the castles classic beauty and heritage.

    Exterior

From the moment you enter the alluring driveway and pull up to the courtyard with its central water feature, you glance up at what strikes you as a warm and welcoming guest house. The size is perfect and the layout is elegant, with so many spaces to work and play within. The castle features gorgeous walkways and paths to walk in the morning and tennis courts to play in. You can hire quad bikes to tour around the lands or maybe do some clay pigeon shooting right on your doorstep. The venue will organise BBQs, Cycling, Personal Training or alternatively if you would like to relax, a massage therapist to help you enjoy your down time.

    Party Anyone?

Carlowrie Castle is an amazing space for events, weddings, parties or business get togethers. The team is even able to set up masterclasses and lectures in the beautiful lounge, where thoughtful minds can get together in a tranquil, spacious environment and work. Work is for the daytime however, but come evening time, dinner cooked by executive chef Jonathan Greer is guaranteed to impress. We enjoyed an incredible 8 course meal which featured Hand dived Orkney scallop, Pumpkin and Sage Ravioli, Whisky smoked Shetland Salmon and Highland roe deer loin, just to name a few of the delightful dishes.

After dinner, we headed into the bar with friends and enjoyed a range of expertly mixed cocktails by a brilliant bartender. The music comes through a wireless Sonos system and we were even able to run our own playlists. The castle really becomes your home for the night and I think this is the main point of staying in such a place.

    The Feelings Mutual

Spending time in Carlowrie Castle is a perfect getaway in a secluded, comfortable setting. The team and owner are completely involved in making your stay as memorable as possible and the experience you are sure to encounter will never be forgotten. More info at @ Carlowrie Castle
