Jeff Koons Popey sold at Sotheby’s Auction for $28 Million

Contemporary artist Jeff Koons has been working on the six and-a-half foot tall, three-dimensional and over life-size cartoon sailor statue ‘Popeye‘ from 2009 to 2011. Steve Wynn purchased Koons’ mirror-polished stainless steel figure for $28,165,000 which will be displayed at Wynn Las Vegas. The statue shows the legendary cartoon charakter ‘Popeye‘ holding an open can of spinach and flexing his muscles.
