The Mission E: Porsche takes on Tesla

    21. September 2015

Tesla is a pioneer among the manufacturers of electric cars. Now, Porsche seems to have discovered this growing market for itself. At the IAA in Frankfurt, the traditional brand unveiled their first all-electric four-seater sports car. Visually, the “Mission E” shares some of the 911’s design elements and is quite low with a its height of 1.30 meters. It combines outstanding driving performance with a pioneering 800 volt drive and an impressive interior design.

The key facts of the fast electric cars speak for themselves: over 600hp (440kW) system performance, over 500 kilometers of range, all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds. Another sensation is the fast charging process which recharges the car up to 80% in only 15 minutes. This is a record time when it comes to electric vehicles and makes the sports car “Mission E” suitable for everyday use.

The futuristic technology inside reveals many innovations: The instruments are operated by eye-tracking and gesture control, sometimes even holograms. This is possible by adjusting the display’s to the driver’s position.

Information about a possible production start or prices are not available yet.
