Lo Scienziato – The Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT Titanio

    10. March 2016

The Special Edition Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT Titanio is the newest member of the ‘Lo Scienziato’ family, a collection dedicated to the genius of Galileo Galilei. It is limited to only 150 examples and will be available May/June for €139,000

The new ‘Lo Scienziato’ has all the typical Panerai characteristics but comes significantly lighter due to its titanium case, movement and the absence of a traditional dial. It is supplied with an anthracite alligator strap, which harmonises perfectly with the titanium of the case and movement. The Luminor 1950 case has the classic diameter of 47 mm, made using an innovative technology called Direct Laser Sintering. This method builds up a completely solid 3D object layer by layer with each layer being only 0.02 mm thick. The mechanical movement used is the hand-wound P.2005 with the special tourbillon patented by Panerai, appearing for the first time in the P.2005/T version, skeletonised and with titanium bridges and plates.
