Mercedes-Benz Introduces the Garrett McNamara Cork Surfboard

    17. November 2014

Mercedes-Benz exchanges the street for the waves of the oceans as part of a cooperation with the Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara and the Portuguese Companie Poland Surfboards.

The surfboard is co-developed by Mercedes-Benz and made of renewable cork and a special foam material that is often used in the aviation industry. The material allows the surfboard to be constructed without longitudinal reinforcements (stringers). Thus it provides maximum flexibility without loss of stability.

Garrett McNamara currently holds the record for the highest wave ever surfed.
